Offers a variety of internship opportunities to
undergraduate and graduate students interested
in pursuing a career in public history.
Department of the Navy
Internships are available in several specialties
at The U.S. Navy Museum: Curator, Historian, Education,
Public Relations, and Design.
National Aeronautics and Space Administration
The NASA History Division sponsors internships
for undergraduate and graduate students year-round.
Chicago Historical Society
This internship is a challenging, educational experience
designed for undergraduate and graduate students
interested in pursuing a career in museum practice,
archival administration, arts administration, or
historical scholarship.
Smithsonian
Opportunities
Internships at the Smithsonian, for the most
part, are arranged individually. Information
and applications may be obtained by contacting
the appropriate internship coordinator or by
contacting the Smithsonian Center for Education
and Museum Studies, the central referral service
for internships.
Cultural Resources Diversity Internship Program
Paid internships are available Undergraduate
and graduate students can participate in internship
projects for 10 weeks during the summer or
15 weeks during a fall/spring semester. All
interns are paid a weekly salary with additional
benefits.
Philadelphia Museum of Art
The Museum Studies Internship Program provides
interns with exposure to the inner workings
of a major metropolitan museum, promoting an
awareness of museum careers through experiences
not available in most academic settings.
U.S. Capitol Historical Society
Each semester hosts one or two interns from
the undergraduate and/or graduate level to
assist the History and Educational Outreach
